Hyde Park a short walk |
Hyde Park – Located just a stones throw away from the Elysee Hotel is Hyde Park, one of London’s largest and best-loved parks. Spread over a vast 145 hectares, Hyde Park’s visitors can enjoy a swim or a boat trip across the famous Serpentine Lake. In recent years Hyde Park has been home to a variety of live music events. 2008 saw many events including the Nelson Mandela 90th Birthday Party, the Music Village and the O2 Wireless Festival and 2009 is sure to be even better, with the long awaited Blur Reunion on 2nd & 3rd July. |

Kensington Gardens a short walk |
Kensington Gardens –Across the Serpentine Lake and adjacent to Hyde Park is its more tranquil neighbour, Kensington Gardens. These majestic, tree-lined avenues offer a host of attractions, including the famous statue of Peter Pan, the Albert Memorial and the Serpentine Art Gallery. |

Lancaster Gate | Lancaster Gate - Located to the north of the Kensington Gardens, Lancaster Gate dates back to the mid nineteenth century. The whole area compromises of two long terraces of houses that overlook the park while the gap between these two terraces open the way to a church. |

Marble Arch | Marble Arch - Designed based on the triumphal arch of Constantine in Rome, Marble Arch was built in 1828 by John Nash. This white Carrara-marble monument is located just opposite the Speaker’s Corner in Hyde Park. Though currently placed opposite Hyde Park, It was initially built as the main entrance to the Buckingham Palace. Due to the expansion project of the palace, the arch was moved to its current location. Today it serves as a gateway between Bayswater and Marylebone. The three archways of Corinthian columns make the arch one of the most impressive sights in Central London. |
